We live on a blue planet. Covered primarily in water, Earth is primarily sustained by its oceans and fresh groundwater. Even its inhabitants are largely comprised of water. A substance that industrialized nations often take for granted, water is the lifeblood of our environment and our existence. Especially in modern society, water represents a major part of our daily activities from hygiene to sustenance to power. In fact, the average person uses between 80 and 100 gallons of it each day.
